Chinkokuji Temple

It is believed that a Japanese monk, “Kobo Daishi (Kukai)”, founded this Shingon-sect temple in 806 when he came back from China.
As the temple is known as the “temple of flowers and prayer”, you can enjoy viewing flowers throughout the year in this temple.
You can enjoy plum and camellia blossoms starting from January, beautiful single-flowered and double-flowered cherry blossoms in spring, azaleas, lilies and lotus flowers starting from May, and maple leaves in late autumn.
