Nakazato Onsuichi Pond

Nakazato Onsuichi Pond

The Nakazato Onsuichi Pond was built in 1953 as a reservoir to use the spring water of Genbe River for agricultural water.
The spring water in Kohama Pond in Rakujuen Park shared water with Genbe River; as the water temperature was low, it remained in this pond for a certain period of time for raising the water temperature by solar heat before use for agriculture.
The area around the pond is well maintained as a park, and it is a comfortable walking path with various kinds of plants.
When there is no wind, the water surface of the pond is like a mirror glass; the south area of the pond is a perfect spot to view Mt. Fuji from upside-down, beautifully reflected on the water's surface.
