[One-Night-Only Special Event] The 12th Candle Night Gathering 2025
On Saturday, October 4, 2025, the 12th Candle Night Gathering will be held at Shinjo No. 2 Civic Sports Ground（新庄第2健民運動場, located inside Yashikiyama Park 屋敷山公園）.
Why not create a lasting early-autumn memory in a magical setting illuminated by thousands of handmade candles for one night only?
About the Candle Night Gathering
Katsuragi City promotes eco-friendly town development as part of its vision for a “resource-circulating society.”
As part of this initiative, about 3,500 candles are made from recycled tempura oil and artistically displayed to light up the night.
Instead of electric lights, the gentle glow of candles will soothe your heart.
Please enjoy a peaceful and warm evening with friends and family.

Please follow traffic staff directions when entering or leaving the grounds. Only the designated ground area is available.
Program & Activities
Hands-on Corner
Create your own eco-candle using wax made from recycled cooking oil!
Bring used cooking oil and receive a free “Renkachan Soap” (the city mascot). Participation is free.
Workshop
In collaboration with Bamboo Ikedaya from the “Take no Mori Project” in Chihayaakasaka Village (Osaka), a bamboo lantern (takeakari 竹あかり) workshop will be held.
Make two bamboo lanterns: take one home and light the other at the venue to brighten the night together. (Participation fee required.)
Live Stage
Cheer dance, taishogoto (Japanese harp), gagaku (ancient Japanese court music), singing and keyboard, and Japanese taiko drumming.
Food Stalls & Trucks
Enjoy a wide variety of food and drinks from kitchen cars and stalls.
Candle Art Exhibition
Anyone—individuals or groups—can freely arrange candles in a 4m × 4m section to display their own light creations.
Notes
- Parking is limited and expected to be crowded. Please use public transportation if possible.
- To keep this event eco-friendly, there will be no trash bins in the park. Please take your garbage home with you.
