Nijo. People would climb the mountain carrying cloths and banners inscribed with &#8220;prayer for rain&#8221; (kiu &#8211; \u7948\u96e8) to receive water from &#8220;Goku no Gongen&#8221; (\u7344\u306e\u6a29\u73fe), reflecting the influence of Katsuragi Shugend\u014d (a form of mountain asceticism).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is believed that this was also a form of entertainment before the busy farming season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Today, it has become a day for local residents to enjoy hiking while cleaning up the mountain.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:15px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Event Information<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>This event is held in the three cities and towns surrounding Mt.
