Kaminari-ido Well

Kaminari-ido Well

The "Kaminari-ido Well" was called the "Tamachi Water Supply"; it was used as a source of water for local residents.
However, due to the deployment of a water supply and sewer system in Mishima City, it is no longer used as water for daily life.
In the vicinity, there were lots of other spring water sources, and it was called "Minami Honcho Yusui-gun", but nowadays most of the springs are dried up and only the Kaminari-ido Well remains.
From the largest well about 3 meters in diameter and 1.5 meters deep, transparent and clean water still wells up throughout the year, and you can also see the “Mishima Baikamo (Japanese Water-crowfoot)” around the well.
