Izubun Residence

Izubun Residence

The Izubun Residence was built in 1910, and it was used as a kimono shop at that time.
In its wooden two-storied main building, there is a front ledger desk and an earthen floor that retain the atmosphere of the old days.
In the back of the building, there are also thick-plaster storehouses with namako-kabe walls.

After the building was donated by its owner, Matsuzaki town has maintained the interior as a precious historic building representing the Meiji period(1868-1912), and it is open to the public as a resting place that people can freely use.
There is a footbath adjacent to the Izubun residence allowing you to refresh yourself in it and heal your fatigue from walking around the town.
