Tamazawa Myohokke-ji temple

Tamazawa Myohokke-ji temple

The Tamazawa Myohokke-ji is a time-honored temple, built by Nisshou Shonin, who was a disciple of Nichiren Shonin, a Japanese Buddhist priest lived during the Kamakura period (1185~1333).
In its 66,000 square meters precincts, there are buildings, including a magnificent main hall (Hondo), Soshido hall, large drawing room (Daishoin) and priest's living quarters or kitchen (Okuri), which are surrounded by long, white walls called "Hyakkenbei".
In its lush garden, you can enjoy seeing a variety of natural beauty throughout the four seasons.
The temple is famous for cherry blossoms in spring and colored leaves in autumn.
