The 47th Yokosuka Mikoshi Parade<\/strong> will be held on Sunday, October 25, 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Around 50 mikoshi portable shrines and festival floats<\/strong> will gather in central Yokosuka, filling the streets with energetic chants and traditional festival music. A total of 52 groups are scheduled to take part in the 2026 event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The parade will take place at Yokosuka Chuo-dori<\/strong> and the Yokosuka Ferry Terminal parking lot<\/strong>, from 10:45 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mikoshi are portable shrines carried during Japanese festivals, while festival floats are decorated structures used in local celebrations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With dozens of mikoshi and floats taking part, the Yokosuka Mikoshi Parade offers visitors a chance to experience the atmosphere of a traditional Japanese festival in central Yokosuka.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Parade Schedule<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The parade begins on Yokosuka Chuo-dori at 10:45 a.m.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

At around 12:00 p.m.<\/strong>, the parade inside the Yokosuka Ferry Terminal parking lot is scheduled to begin. The Chuo-dori parade is expected to finish at around 1:10 p.m.<\/strong>, while the ferry terminal section is scheduled to finish at around 2:00 p.m.<\/strong> The event ends at 2:30 p.m.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Traffic restrictions on Yokosuka Chuo-dori are scheduled from 10:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
