The former refuge shelter of the feudal lord of Tadotsu Domain
It was a samurai residence built in 1867 (the third year of the Keio era).
During the time of Takamasa, a sixth generation of the Tadotsu Kyogoku Domain, chief retainer Motome Hayashi built the residence as a secondary one to use as a refuge shelter during attacks by foreign battleships.
