Ome Juku
Ome City is famous for being a "Showa Retro Town", where old architecture, such as machiya (tradesman's houses), thick-plaster storehouses and signage were built along the highway, and old townscapes from the Edo* to early Showa** periods remain.
* Edo period is the period between 1603 and 1868 in the history of Japan, when Japanese society was under the rule of the Tokugawa Shogunate.
** Showa period refers to the period of Japanese history corresponding to the reign of the Showa Emperor, Hirohito, from December 25, 1926 until his death on January 7, 1989.
