Motoise Naiku Kotai-jinja Shrine

The Motoise Naiku Kotai-jinja is considered the original shrine of Ise Jingu.
The main shrine is surrounded by two side shrines and 83 smaller shrines.
The precincts of the shrine are guarded by a sacred tree, the Ryutonosugi, estimated to be 2,000 years old.
On the summer solstice in late June, the sun rises between two rocks at Ise and sets on the summit of the nearby Himurogatake.
The hall of worship is said to be a place of unanimous fulfilment.
