Ishidajima Handweaving Center
"Ishida stripes," the foundation of Sabae's textiles, are characterized by weaving yarn dyed in advance, making the most of the natural colors and textures of plant-dyed strands. A full scale weaving machine is located in the attached experiential education facility where you can actually experience what work was like for weavers in the old days.
