Izumo Daijingu Shrine
The shrine is famous for the blessing of matchmaking.
In the precinct, there are must-see sports, including “Meoto Iwa (wedded rocks)” to which worshippers tie a red string and the sacred water “Manai no mizu” welling up from Mt. Mikage, a mountain as an object of worship.
It sometimes happens that people line up in front of “Manai no mizu” to get some water. The main hall is designated as a national important cultural property.
