Bishamonten Myohoji Temple
The Bishamonten Festival takes place at Myohoji Temple every Lunar New Year (Jan 1 to Jan 9).
The festival started with the belief that Bishamonten, a Buddhist deity, descends onto the earth and listens to people's wishes in these three days.
The event also brings in daruma doll vendors from all across Japan, who sell their wares at the festival. For this reason, Fuji City is among the top three cities in Japan famous for daruma dolls.
