Izumi no Sato (Springwater Village)

In the east part of Fuji City, there are many spots where groundwater gushes up as springs.
The area is collectively called "springwater village," and has been protected as a valuable source of water for drinking, household use, and industrial use since ancient times.
The area is also said to be the birthplace of the Tale of Princess Kaguya (also known as the Tale of the Bamboo Cutter), and there are many place names and historical sites related to the story.
