Kuhi-no-Sato (Poem inscription open-air gallery)

In Kunari area of Minobu Town located at the foot of Mt. Fujimi (altitude 1,640m), one of the 100 famous mountains in Yamanashi Prefecture, there is an about one-kilometer stretch of road lined with more than 1,000 stone monuments, on each of which a haiku or tank poem composed by devotees of haiku or tanka in Japan is inscribed.
In spring, nearby double cherry blossoms called “Conta-no-Senbonzakura (Conta’s 1,000 cherry trees)” are in full bloom.
