Takaba Stone Monument

Sone Marker for Places for Falconry Ieyasu Tokugawa, Iemitsu Tokugawa, and Yoshimune Tokugawa did falconry in various places near Edo, and each Shogun did falconry around Inokashira, as well.
All villages within a 20-km radius from the Edo Castle were designated as places for falconry for the Tokugawa shogunate, and villages in outer areas of the circle were for Owari, Kii, and Mito Tokugawa families.
Mitaka was on the boundary of the circle, and stone markers were built around 1770 to mark the boundaries.
There is a record that seven stone markers were built in Mitaka City. The markers were designated as historical sites of Mitaka City in 1978.
