Tomi Jinja Shrine
According to shrine-history, Tomi Shrine originally stood for a long time in Mt. Tomi, but its main hall was moved to its current location in 1112, after a landslide occurred in the mountain.
Mt. Tomi is said to be a place where Emperor Jimmu, who is recorded as Japan's first ruler, worshipped gods deemed to be ancestors of the imperial family.
