Former Chikurin-in
Chikurin-in was a hermitage on Mount Hiei for priests.
This type of hermitage was called “satobo,” meaning residence in the countryside for monks.
Its garden spreads about 3,300 square meters and is a nationally designated Garden of Scenic Beauty that is beautiful in each season.
Visitors can enjoy drinking matcha green tea while viewing this garden.
It is also a popular spot for photography.
