Kawagoe Festival Museum

The Kawagoe Festival Museum is a nationally designated Important Intangible Folk Cultural Property.
It is a folk museum run by Kawagoe City, and it opened on September 28, 2003 for the purpose of preserving tradition and exhibiting material related to the Kawagoe Hikawa Festival, known as one of the "Three Big Festivals of the Kanto Region."
The museum’s exhibition hall has two decorated floats that are pulled on the streets during the Kawagoe Festival. Visitors can go near them and see the dynamic splendor up close.
Traditional hayashi music performances are held on Sundays and holidays (twice a day from 13:30 and 14:30; each performance lasts about 20 minutes).
