Omatonotsuno-Tenjinsha Shrine

Omatonotsuno-Tenjinsha Shrine is an old shrine considered as one of the shrines listed in the Engishiki Jinmyocho list created in the Heian period (794–1185).
A mystical space spreads in and around the shrine’s precincts beyond a long, stone stairway climbed after going through a torii gate.
Tsushima jinja Shrine, Hakusan jinja Shrine, Shinmei jinja Shrine, Inari jinja Shrine, and Akiha jinja Shrine are worshiped as precincts shrines. The main hall was built around the end of Japan’s feudal period.
The walls and pillar-area of the hall are decorated with elaborate carvings displaying the fine craftsmanship of the time.
