Old Amagi Tunnel

Officially called, “Mt. Amagi Tunnel,” this tunnel was built in 1905 and extends 446 meters.
Made entirely of stone, it is Japan’s longest stone-made tunnel that remains today, and it is a nationally-designated Important Cultural Property.
“The Izu Dancer”, a famous novel written by Yasunari Kawabata, takes place here.
