Sugimoto Jinja Shrine

Sugimoto jinja Shrine has a history of 1200 years since establishment and is widely known by its nickname "Ino-no-Okuni-sama."
The shrine worships three deities beginning with Okuni-no-nushi and is believed to answer prayers for good luck, matchmaking, domestic safety, and good business.
The shrine’s big festival held in spring is known as one of the “three big festivals of Tosa (another name for Kochi),” attracting 70,000 devotional visits each year.
Sometimes you can see common jays flying around the precincts.
These butterflies have been designated as a special natural monument in Kochi prefecture.
