Nakagawa Cherry Blossom Trees
The cherry blossom trees on the bank of Nakagawa River are one of the most popular cherry-blossom spots in the Nishi-izu area.
Approximately 1,200 Somei Yoshino cherry trees are planted in an area about 6 km long along the river from the mouth of the Nakagawa River which flows in the center of Matsuzaki town to Osawa onsen, and you can enjoy the cherry blossoms in full bloom from late March through early April.
It is said that the local people planted the cherry blossom trees along the river in the early 1960s, and now it one of the biggest sightseeing spots in the town.
During the cherry blossom season, the trees are lit up in the 900-meter-long Naka bypass area, so you can also enjoy the cherry blossoms at night.
