Shitanoya Archaeological Site

The Shitanoya archaeological site is one of the largest large settlement sites in the southern Kanto region, dating from the Middle Jomon Period, 4 to 5 thousand years ago.
It was designated a National Historic Site in March 2015.
Today, part of the area has been developed as "Shitanoya Jomon Village," where visitors can see reconstructed pit dwellings and graves, and it is also cherished as a place for relaxation.
By downloading the app, visitors can visualize a three-dimensional computer graphic reconstruction of a Jomon-era village and enjoy a quiz.
Visitors can learn about the ruins and the Jomon period at the annual Autumn Festival.
