Miyadajuku Honjin

Miyadajuku Honjin is estimated to have been constructed in the middle of the Edo period (1751-1763).
This is the only and oldest honjin architecture in Kamiina-gun, and its main building, zashiki (formal Japanese room), front gate, warehouse are designated as the prefectural treasure of Nagano.
On rainy days, the inside of the building is dim because the shutters are closed. So, the living space of the Edo period without electric lights can be experienced realistically.
