Koshigami jinja Shrine

The Koshigami jinja shrine is dedicated to the deities Minoshima no Sukune, Hachidai Ryuoh, Sarutahiko-no-mikoto and Kunimitsu Daimyojin.
It is said to have been founded around the time of the Taika no Kaisin in 645.
It is said that in 1334, when Masanari Kusunoki was on his way to defeat the Kamakura Shogunate under the orders of Emperor Go-Daigo, his beloved horse Chihaya-maru was unable to stand up and was cured after being tied to a wisteria tree in this shrine.
The 700-year-old wisteria tree still exists and is said to be visited by many people today for its miraculous cure for back pain.
