Saitobaru Archaeological Museum of Miyazaki Prefecture

The Saitobaru Archaeological Museum of Miyazaki Prefecture exhibits a great number of precious excavated articles dating from the Paleolithic period to the Yayoi period, including earthenware and stoneware unearthed from Saitobaru.
There is an exhibition where some earthenware and stoneware can be touched. For those who wish to learn more about the history, it is recommended to join a volunteer-guided tour.
The museum building includes a multi-purpose hall, seminar room, and a tea lounge.
At the “Ancient Life Interactive Center” on the premises, it is possible to experience the magatama (comma‐shaped bead)-making, earthenware-making or fire-making. (Paid workshops/Reservation required)
