A traditional product of Kochi prefecture.
As part of the celebration of Children’s Day on May 5, furafu with bold designs are hung alongside koinobori from April to May to pray for boys to grow up healthy and strong.
Most popular are dynamic designs featuring heroes of Japanese folktales like Kintaro and Momotaro, as well as images of historical Japanese warriors, and the unique techniques used by craftsmen to carefully hand-paint these designs are highly rated.
