Mt. Takao

Mt. Takao, a three Michelin star-rated tourist destination, attracts numerous tourists to its natural scenery, beautiful in every season, as well as to its varied range of hiking courses and the rows of eateries and gift shops that line the approach to the mountain.
With a cable car and chair lift, it's easy for anyone, from the very young to the very old, to enjoy scaling the mountain.
On the mountainside, there is the temple complex of Takao-san Yakuo-in, which belongs to the Chizan school of the Shingon Buddhist sect and is one of the big three mountain temples in the Kanto region, alongside Naritasan Shinsho-ji Temple and Kawasaki Daishi Heiken-ji Temple.

Parking: There is the Takaosanfumoto Parking Lot in front of Takaosanguchi Station on the Keio Line, as well as private parking lots.
When leaves bud in spring and change color in autumn, and during the new year shrine visit season, the parking lots become very crowded.
There number of parking spaces is limited, so where possible please come by public transportation.
