Motourakawa Church

This is the church that was the center of faith of the Sekishinsha, a pioneer group established in Kobe in 1880 (Meiji 13) for the purpose of developing Hokkaido and settling in the Ogifushi district of Urakawa Town.
Although the current building has been reconstructed, its exterior retains an emotional appearance that is evocative of its history.
The old church building, constructed in the Meiji era, was moved to the Historical Village of Hokkaido and is preserved as the old Urakawa Public Hall.
