Oiso Beach

Oiso Beach was opened in 1885 as Japan’s first “swimming-purpose beach” by Matsumoto Ryojun, Japan’s first surgeon general.
The beach is only a ten-minute walk from the train station, making it the most accessible beach in Shonan.
Many families and couples from in and outside of the prefecture come to swim here. Oiso Beach’s landmark is the off-shore rock “Kabuto Iwa.”
