Chakkirako / Misaki Showa House

This historical and stately warehouse-style merchant house has been preserved. Here, you can find exhibitions of Chakkirako materials and how people lived in Misaki during the Showa Period.
Chakkirako is a traditional performance art passed down from generation to generation in downtown Misaki. It has been designated as an Intangible Cultural Heritage by UNESCO.
The dance is held every Little New Year, praying for bountiful fish harvest and business prosperity. There are exhibitions of various materials and costumes related to Chakkirako, and there are also videos introducing the dance.
You can also see how people lived in the good old days of the Showa Period and various seasonal exhibitions.
