Sugatami-no-ike Pond
This came to be called Sugatami-no-ike because prostitutes used it as a mirror substitute (Sugatami means “full-length mirror”).
A legend still exists about Koigakubo (Love’s Hollow), saying that the prostitute Asazuma Dayū, who pined for Hatakeyama Shigetada, a Kamakura samurai, threw herself into the pond.
