Setagaya Park

The attractions of Setagaya Park are the sports facilities such as the baseball field, tennis court, and outdoor pool (only in summer), as well as the electric mini SL.
The electric mini SL "Chibikuro-go (ちびくろ号)" is a model of D51-272, known as "Degoichi," which is being stored statically in the park.
After purchasing a ticket, have it cut with a pair of scissors and board the train. The attendant's blowing of the whistle signals the long-awaited departure.
The mini SL weaves its way through the zelkovas, maple trees, etc., that are rich in the changes of the four seasons while sounding its steam whistle and goes around the park in about three minutes.
The electric mini SL is very popular among children and the bustling "Setagaya Children's SL Festival" that takes place every year in autumn also conducts special commemorative train operations, exhibitions of railway models, and etc.

「世田谷区立平和資料館」も公園内にあり、小さいながら良い施設だと思います。 ※平成7年8月、せたがや平和資料室を区立玉川小学校内に開設し、平和の尊さを後世に伝えていくための活動を進めてきました。その20年後（戦後70年）の平成27年8月15日に、世田谷公園内に移設し、平和資料館として新規開設しました。大きな犠牲と悲劇を生んだ太平洋戦争の体験や記憶を後世に伝えるとともに、戦争の悲惨さと平和の尊さを知っていただくための資料の展示等を行っています（世田谷区ＨＰより）。
