"Nigiwai Community Center Akune Station" opened in 2014, designed by an industrial designer, Eiji Mitooka.
The facility was built with the concepts, "Guest House of the Town" and "Public Hall of the Town."
The architecture uses much wood, creating a calm atmosphere.
There is a cafeteria, a shop, a library area, and an area for kids inside the building.
