Hijiori Onsen

Hijiori Onsen, which boasts a history of over 1,200 years since it's founding, is a quiet hot spring village with 19 traditional Japanese inns side by side along the Douzan River.
It is located at the foot of Mt. Gassan, a mountain of faith and the main peak of the three mountains of Dewa.
It has become a representative local resource of Okura Village.
The hot springs still retain a pronounced atmosphere as a healing hot spring resort, and is loved by many as a nostalgic location.
From spring until snow begins to fall, there is a morning market in the resort area of town.
Along with seasonal wild vegetables, mushrooms, and side dishes, many tourists enjoy chatting with the local mothers, and this has become a known specialty of the area.
