Taimadera Temple

It is said that Taimadera Temple originated as Manpozoin, which was built in 612 by Maroko, the 3rd Prince of Emperor Yomei, in Kawachi Province before being moved by Mahito Taima no Kunimi, the grandson of Prince Maroko, to its present location, which is connected to En no Gyoja.
In its grounds, it contains the Hondo (the Main Mandala Hall), the east pagoda, and the west pagoda, which have been designated as national treasures and the Kondo and the Kodo, which have been designated as national important cultural properties, as well as the Daishi-do, Yakushi-do, the Deva gate, and a bell tower, which are all arranged in a unique manner.
It also contains various rare cultural properties, such as the Maitreya Bodhisattva (national treasure) in the Kondo and the statues of the Four Devas (important cultural property).
