Kumaishi Memorial Hall Of History

It displays not only the history of herring fishing, but also the history and culture brought about by the Kitamae guard station and the kitamaebune shipping route, established in 1691 (Genroku 4).
An agate-encrusted dogu clay figurine (a replica exhibited) that was accidentally discovered in a cave in the Ayukawa district in 1966 is extremely rare as a clay figurine decorated with balls, and is stored at the National Museum of Japanese History as a nationally designated important cultural property.
