Kikusen-in Temple

Founded in the Kamakura period and opened as a Zen sect in the first year of the Bunroku era, Kikusen-in Temple is known as the family temple of the Warring States period military commander Masanori Fukushima, and a memorial tablet for Masanori, a standing statue of Bishamonten, the guardian Buddha, and a portrait are dedicated here.
There are historical sites related to Masanori Fukushima around Kikusen-in Temple, such as the Birthplace of Masanori Fukushima monument to the south of Kikusen-in Temple, and Futatsudera Shinmeisha Shrine, which is said to have been restored and built by Masanori, to the west.
