Yuuhouen Fruits Land

If you're looking to try some ripe & freshly picked fruit, then you need to visit Yuuhouen in western Kumamoto, by Mt. Kinpo. It was established in 1970 as a plantation for tourists to try their hand at picking their own fruit and purchase fresh produce.
The plantation makes full use of the luscious nature, warm climate, and mountain slopes of the area to grow strawberries and all kinds of other seasonal plants that are available for guests to pick, such as bamboo shoots, royal ferns, and bracken in summer; persimmons & chestnuts in autumn, and many more.
You can also try picking freshly laid eggs from their free range chicken farms throughout the year, and their 'Farm Teahouse' offers up fresh homestyle meals like grilled chicken and beef, boiled eggs, omlette rice, udon noodles, and more.
