Former Sasanami Family Residence (Important Cultural Property)

The old Sasanami family ran a fishery for generations.
They prospered by fishing for herring, and their home is one of the oldest surviving private homes in Hokkaido. It is said to be the prototype of the herring banya that remain on the Japan Sea coast of Hokkaido.
