Sekkoji Temple

In Sekkoji Temple, there is a well called “Somenoi,” where Chujo Hime (Princess Chujo), a legendary person in the Nara period (around 474), is said to have dyed lotus threads to woven Taima Mandara.
The temple is well-known as a viewing spot for Paeonia suffruticosa.
During the blossom reasons, the temple is crowded with many visitors who come to see the flowers of the peony trees in spring (late April - early May) and those in winter (late November - late January).
