Mt.Sokuryo
This is an observatory spot overlooking Muroran.
It isn't particularly high at an altitude of 199.6m, but you can see Mt. Yotei, Mt. Komagatake and Cape Esan on fine days.
It is also a treasure trove of native wild birds, and you can enjoy the sounds of nature.
By applying with a message, the TV tower on the mountaintop can be lit up from sunset to 12:00 pm (October to March until 11:00 pm), and it has continued to illuminate Muroran since its first lighting in 1988 (Showa 63).
In addition, Mt. Sokuryo is registered in the "Night View Heritage of Japan" and "100 Night Views".
