The main shrine from the Kamakura period is designated as a national treasure.
The Utano Akimatsuri Festival, which is held on the third Sunday of October each year, is a romantic festival, rare even in Japan, wherein Udano Mikumari jinja Shrine’s goddess of women, Hayaaki Tsuhime, is taken to meet the god of men, Hayaaki Tsuhiko, once per year.
