Sanpo Walking Trail
Iwachi, Ishibu and Kumomi, the three districts facing Suruga Bay, are collectively called Sanpo.
In this area, there are traces of the core of an ancient submarine volcano.
The hard rocks have formed a beautiful yet rough terrain.
This region was little explored by visitors until a bus service connecting Matsuzaki to Ishibu began in 1965.
The roads used by the locals before the bus route was established form the spine of the Miura Walking Trail, which connects Iwachi, Ishibu and Kumomi.
