Ema & jinja Shrine (Hobata jinja Shrine)
Present-day Oji is covered with new residential buildings, but old traditions persist in the city's shrines.
One of these is the tradition of offering an ema at the autumn festival after one's child is born, to signify that they have become a member of the shrine.
This tradition is still continued today, so the haiden and emaden buildings of shrines in Oji are completely covered with these ema.
The emaden building of Hobata Shrine in particular is decorated with vast numbers of ema.
