This is the tomb of Empress Iitoyo, who is said to have ruled in the late 5th century.
According to the "Kojiki," Japan's oldest history book, and the "Nihon Shoki," a chronicle of Japan completed in the 8th century, she is said to have conducted her political affairs at Tsunosashi Shrine.
