Daifukukoji Temple

Built between 782 and 806, it is said that Ashikaga Takauji later moved the temple to its present location here.
Vaisravana is worshipped here as the principal object of worship, which is why it is known and loved as the Vaisravana of Warabi.
Many of the halls here were burned down during the Tensho years (during the Azuchi-Momoyama Era in the late 1500s) in fires caused by war, but the main hall and tahoto pagoda still remain in their original forms.
The temple's treasures include the oldest manuscript of Kamo no Chomei’s “Hojoki” and a votive picture tablet written by Kano Motonobu and both the main hall and tahoto pagoda are jointly a nationally-designated important cultural property.
