Mt. Chorogatake

The view from the summit of this mountain that stands at a height of 916.9m is breath taking, with the blue sky, seas of clouds, and sunset in particular making for spectacular scenery.
On a clear day, you can see the Sea of Japan in the distance.
Near the entrance of the Hodosu course, you can enjoy local tourist attractions such as the town-designated cultural asset, the “seven-colored tree”.
In addition, the entire area is known as a reservoir for alpine plants. Between April and May, you will find a number of colorful, beautiful flowers blooming here such as rhododendrons and schizocodon soldanelloides.
There is also a well-maintained hiking course which takes around two hours if climbing from the foot to the summit of the mountain.
